Marty Orlick was session chair and a panel speaker at the 2009 11th Annual Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C. He explored the unique problems and pitfalls of drafting “exclusive” clauses and delve into the ramifications of the words chosen during drafting and the possible litigation consequences when a breach occurs and a court is required to interpret the lease.
